Mortgage Loan Closer

The Mortgage Loan Closer position is primarily responsible for the preparation of mortgage closing documents.  Ensuring all essential information is accurate and communicates with internal staff as well as settlement agents to solve all closing issues in a timely manner.
Status: Full-Time (Non-Exempt)
Reports to: Mortgage Loan Closing Manager
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Checks accuracy for all essential information provided at submission for closing
  • Communicates with loan officer, processing and underwriting staff
  • Prepares accurate figures for monthly payments, escrows, prepaid interest, etc.
  • Produce and organize all closing documents including conventional, FHA, VA and USDA loans
  • Have knowledge of multiple investor closing policies and procedures
  • Responsible for the review and approval of closing disclosures
  • Calculating wire amounts and verifying accuracy with settlement agents
  • Understanding and following all procedures relating to job function to help ensure compliance with TRID
  • Act as the single point of contact from the time closing is requested through the time the loan is shipped to one of our approved agency or purchased by the investor
  • Complete a loan review on every loan to ensure it meets RESPA, Fair Lending, and Disclosure and Re-disclosure compliance
  • Maintain a closing pipeline, completing closing disclosures a minimum of 3 days prior to closing
  • Other duties/ projects as assigned 
Position Requirements:
  • 3+ years of mortgage experience (funding/closing/processing) in a direct lending environment
  • Experience Closing Conventional & Government loans REQUIRED
  • Experience using ProClose/Compliance Ease software PREFERRED
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, and Windows)
  • Maintain Confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to handle closings in multiple states
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a pleasant, reliable, and responsible approach to work
  • High attention to detail
  • Well-organized, with the ability to multi-task
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision

  • Moderate sound as in business office with office machines, computers, and people traffic
